Photoshop and Illustrator
When moving files to and from Illustrator to Photoshop and back again, be sure to match color space
Jennifer in Hawaii running a MAC 9.2 and Photoshop 6.0 writes
When dragging or copying items from Illustrator 9.0 into PS 6 - the colors are "off" - Black becomes grey etc.. How do I fix this problem?
Match the color space
1. Make sure color space is the same... Both files should be RBG or CYMK or the color shift will occur.
2. Colors built of percentages of CMYK will shift sometimes when entering the Photoshop CMYK color space. This is due to 'gamma' -- set both programs up the same.
It may still be necessary to re-color elements so they match upon arrival in Photoshop. When you have a particularly difficult or misbehaving color, import that vector object from Illustrator on a separate layer, for easy color change.
3. CMYK builds should print reliably even if the screen representation is not quite the same.

hi,
I'm using Photoshop 6 and Illustrator CS. I've found that when filling an object with a CMYK color saving it as a jpeg and then opening it in Illustator, the color of the object has changed to a different CMYK color. Is this because of the gap between versions? and is there anything I can do besides try to estimate the color change that occurs? Thanks!

In illustrator CS3, I am receiving a suspicious message: "Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area."
I have received an illustrator file from the client. In the page layout, the Artwork and text is moved off the page to the right 1/2" and down 1/2" and locked. I have unlocked all layers and ungrouped all groups and subgroups and am trying to simply move the objects onto the page area to save as printable PDF. Any ideas? Thanks, Dave
