Lots of answers to this one...

PS 911 Team says:
There are some 3,000 tutorials on the Web which describe how to do "Gel Buttons" ... the technique is basically the same to achieve what you are looking for. However an exact duplication will be difficult and tedious.

Hundreds of people have asked the exact same question, with different examples. But each artist had their own way of tweaking the light and shadow to achieve the exact look. Duplicating it will be next to impossible without a great deal of experimentation.

If this is a really important project, you would be well served to invest in the "One Click Wow" book from Peachpit. It includes a CD of extraordinary filters -- one of which nails the Apple "Glass Button" and QuickTime effect to a tee.

I recreated the buttons if you still need help. I didn't use any automated program or filter...just good old fashioned gradients, autoshapes and pen tool, all in Photoshop.

If you want a step-by-step on how I made these, let me know and I will post a full tutorial.
