White type for Web Pages
>> I am using photoshop 6 to create a text image with a color background and the color bleeds into the white text once on the web. Any ideas why?<<

Okay... tricky but effective solution works like a charm...
PS 911 Team says:
Yes, the type is antialiased, so therefore it has many semi-opaque pixels allowing that color to bleed in. If it didn't have this it would look horrible.
Two suggestions...
1) First, work in a larger size. Produce your type 200% of the size you actually want. When you reduce the type it will clean up.
2) Produce your type on a clear layer FIRST. Try to make sure the background color you use in Photoshop matches the background color to be used on the web. (Mistake most beginners always make!)
If need be, select the actual HEX color from the web background, and reproduce that in Photoshop using the color chooser set to "Web Color" (See: "To hex or not to hex" in Mr. Pixelsmith's color column in the Design Center.
3) Once you have the white text on a clear layer, and your background color in place, drag a copy of the text layer. Watch as the whites get whiter and the intrusion of the color minimizes.
