Photoshop vs. Elements
Which is better? Which should I buy? We simply got tired of answering this same frequent question -- Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? t's one of those questions that refuses to go away.
So, logic told us to enlist the help of the one professional we knew would have all the answers -- and we're thrilled that Photoshop and Photoshop Elements expert, author and practitioner Richard Lynch would come to the rescue.
Now we can put this long-running debate to rest: Which is best: Photoshop or Elements??

If you are looking to save money, I would suggest looking at The GIMP (see gimp.org) for a free open-source image editing program. It's at least as good as Elements and has an interface that's easier to learn than Photoshop.

Depends on what you are going to be using it for, if you are a graphic deisng student or a professional I would recommend getting the full version like 7.0 or cs.
If you are just a person who wants to edit photos and do simple stuff then elements is fine.
If you are a student you can get great deals on the software on educational versions and you can still use it when you finish and are in the design world.
