This user gets an ERROR 39 when opening Photoshop under Macintosh OS 9.22.
This is not a Photoshop error, but it can happen any time...
J.C. from Phoenix, AZ USA running a Mac with OS/9.22 and Photoshop 7.1 writes:
" I tried to open Photoshop today and was advised it couldn't be done because of an error 39. It worked perfectly last nite so what happens during the hours I am asleep? I have restarted which didn't help. I don't want to re-install unless I absolutely have to.
This is not a Photoshop problem but rather a software/hardware problem.
Macintosh Error -39 means the application you attempted to launch has a corrupted file on the hard drive, or the drive is having problems locating all of the file's parts, or related files. This error is sometimes accompanied by "End Of File" errors or "No Addational Data" errors.
Basically the Mac started reading the files required to launch Photoshop but could not finish it and froze.
Everyone's hard drive has corrupted blocks or sectors. The OS software usually writes those out and then skips them when time to store some data. Part of a required launch file for Photoshop could be written across a corrupted sector. But not necessarily.
Reinstalling may be the answer, and surely you'll end up reinstalling anyway. The best thing to do if this happens a lot is to back everything up, then defragment and clean up your hard drive.
If you encounter this problem at start up, your Launcher is corrupt and you need to trash it and reinstall.

I don't know about you, but it's where I keep my tiwe iwon.

I've rrecently installed a logitech express web cam, and since doing so I can no longer scan with photoshop (or even open many of the programmes I have installed on my system)? As soon as I click on Twain or even select twain, the programme just grinds to a halt, eventually a window will tell me the problem is TWUNK?? What is TWUNK?
