PS 7 rejects Scanner

A recent upgrade took this reader's scanner out of sync with Photoshop

Walters from UK, using photoshop 5 le and photoshop 7 with mac os 9.1, writes in with:

[Quote:] have photoshop 5 recently updated to 7. Using an epson scanner works fine with photoshop 5 but can not use with 7. When going to import - in version 5, twain comes up. In 7 only thing that appears in import is annotations. Have tried moving twain ext into import folder of 7 but still no joy . Any ideas would be grateful.

We've had this same problem many, many times after upgrading. Same with printers.

Go to Epson's web site and download the latest driver set for your particular scanner. Epson is very good about keeping their drivers up to date. You should update your drivers even if you haven't had problems -- keeping the latest drivers installed. Be sure to read the info at the driver download site, and make sure it's designed to work with your equipment.

You should also upgrade to Mac OS X if your hardware will support it. These problems are a thing of the past in OS X.
